About IPHRCThe Centre is a collaboration between the First Nations University of Canada, the University of Regina, and the University of Saskatchewan. Our primary focus is promoting and developing capacity in health research among Aboriginal people in areas of Aboriginal health such as chronic diseases, Indigenous health, appropriate delivery of health services and prevention measures. An important feature of this centre is the enhancement of the role that aboriginal people will play in finding solutions to their own health needs. The goal of this centre is to foster community-generated Indigenous research throughout Saskatchewan. IPHRC received $325,000 in provincial funding, including $100,000 from the Department of Industry and Resources for 2002-2003. The $2.5 million grant will be paid out in yearly amounts of $500,000 from 2003/4 to 2007/8. In August 2007, IPHRC received notice of its successful application
to the CIHR NEAHR competition. Through this opportunity, funding will
continue through September 2010. |
